Day 1 - Book Love - 4 Books A Day, Over 4 Days - Journal Type & Others

Hello all you lovely people!
Hope you are having a good day.

I recently ordered 16 books from Amazon.co.uk. I went a little mad as I was in a boredom zone. As you all know from my other blog post, that I am currently jobless and pregnant. So I'm sometimes stuck of what to do with myself lately. I thought to myself "I love journaling and writing, maybe buy some books that involves that". Logged onto Amazon and went a little crazy searching for the right books and then spending the money on these books. So after when I brought 16 books, I thought I would share them with you (The Fans of Journal Type Books).

I have brought journal type books and other random books that might interest you.

I am splitting the books up into 4 blog posts - daily. 4 books a day.

[Sorry if your on a 'No Spend' month]

{Oh and also NOTE, that my grammer is not great, sorry. I am not so great giving reviews either so I hope I'm some help}

Book No 1

Title of the book: Year of the Doodle: 365 Drawing, Collaging, and Mark-Making Adventures

Author: Dawn DeVries Sokol

Published: 3 November 2015

Pages: 192 pages

Product dimensions: 16.5 x 2.2 x 20.3cm

Stars out of 5:  5

Link to the book: Amazon - Year of the Doodle

What the book is:  A book where it gives you a daily doodle prompt and you doodle the prompt.

My Review:

I am so in love with this book. I love how colourful the pages are and the feel of the pages are great.
The paper quality is very good and no bleed through from sharpies. Its a great project to get stuck into, especially if you love to wind down and doodle. There is a daily doodle prompt with a space to doodle, the days being different size boxes. So you don't feel overwelmed by doing a whole page of doodles. It was published in 2015 so it misses 29th February, but there is a page for notes after every month so can just add 29th on there.

I didn't buy this book for doodling. I am using the book for daily journal prompts. I am going to either label over the daily prompt or scribble it out, and write my own journal prompt. Instead of being a doodle a day book for me, it will be a journal prompt a day. As I prefer to write instead of draw/doodle.

What the book is: A book where it gives you a daily journal prompt and you answer it. The book is for 3 years, so you get to see your answers throughout the 3 years. How different your answers were last year to present year.

My Review:

I'm so happy I brought this book, as its better than I expected. When I saw that it said 'teens' in the title, I'll be honest it put me off. As I am 25 years old mother with two children and one on the way, I am no teen (lol). I saw in one of the reviews on Amazon that it said "questions are aimed at teens/young adult". I thought young adult is okay for me, so I went ahead and brought it. It doesn't have the word teen on the front cover anywhere either, which is nice. I searched through the book when I receieved it and only saw 3 or 4 questions to do with teens (ex: something like "how are your grades").  I can just skip them questions as its a few random ones throughout the book and it doesn't bother me at all.

Some of the questions are simple and easy to answer and others are deep and something to think about. So you get a various of random questions throughout the book. The pages are lovely, quality is okay, some pages have a patterned border. It has lines to answer the question, which is great for me as I do not write in a straight line.

The reason why I gave this book a 4 is because 1.) Its a 3 year journal and I would like it to be a 5 year journal. 2.) It has no bookmarker ribbon thing so you can track where you are in the book. Apart from that, I'm very happy with this book.

Book No 3

Title of the book:  A Thought A Day: Five year Journal

Publisher: Peter Pauper Press; Jou edition

Published: 1st July 2011

Pages:  372 pages

Product dimensions:  18.3 x 11.7 x 2.5 cm

Cover type: Hard cover

Stars out of 5:   5

Link to the book: Amazon - A thought a day

What the book is: A 5 year journal to store your thoughts.

My Review:

Nice little book for your thoughts. Random thoughts you have throughout the day. Its easy and small enough to carry around in your bag. It has 5 years so you can see your random thoughts throughout the 5 years and have a laugh about them. There is 5 lines for each day, which is enough to write your thoughts. There is no bookmarker ribbon thing which is a little disspointing. Not really much to say about this book. If you want somewhere to keep your random thoughts, then this book is for you.

Book No 4

Title of the book:  Dream Journal

Publisher: Knock Knock Books

Published: 1st August 2013

Pages: 128 pages

Product dimensions:  1.9 x 15.2 x 23.5 cm

Cover type: Soft

Bookmarker: Yes

Stars out of 5:  5

Link to the book:  Amazon - Dream Journal

What the book is: A book where you record your dreams.

My Review:

I really like this dream journal. Best one I've seen so far. It has 2 pages to fill out for each dream. The front cover is gorgeous. Has a place for you to write down and record your dream, a place to draw/doodle your dream if you like, and a place to reflect on your dream.

I've been having really strange, random dreams lately while I'm pregnant and thats the reason why I brought this book.

I also brought a A - Z  Dream Dictionary to go along with my Dream Journal. To be honest I don't know if I believe that dreams have meanings, but thought it would be fun to look up anyways.
